i know this is a bit early but any one hve a rough idea what time games will be starting as i will be skiing during the week i wont be able to get to sydney to catch a plane tilll late friday and just seeing if i should aim for a late friday flight or a very early sat flight . plus how long would it take in a taxi to get there from the airport thanks

There are a few NPPL items that we will not be enforcing like the clear hoppers and the like that would be alittle rough to spring on people. But the formate will be used and so will the best of 3 finals.

Good news at last, the power poles finaly went up, yesterday. better very very late than never. Anyway we are right on track now. We'll get stuck into the safe area this weekend then up in the cherry picker to hang the 7.2m netting by the end of the month then at last the turf can go down, add alittle water and hey presto SPPC'04.

We are also going to terrace the bank of the dam wall next to the field that will give it an almost stadium feel, as that dam wall runs the lenght of the field down one side.

Hey also looked up the rule for the number of pro players that can be on the field for a Div 1 team, looks like 2 pros can take to the field for div 1 teams in NPPL rules.

NPPL play only 8 prelim games is that enough???? Bear in mind that you play quarter finals ,semifinals as well as finals those being best of 3. So if we had 20 teams and if there are 10 in each division the top 8 teams will qualifiy for the quarter finals. the quaters would be played as 2 divisons of 4, you play each other once (3 games). The top 2 teams from each will then proceed to the semi finals. Going by the placeings in the quarter finals 1st vs 4th best of 3, 2nd vs 3rd best of 3 (2 or 3 games). Now the winner of these semi final games go on to the grand final (1 vs 2) the losers g on to play for 3rd and 4th another 2 or 3 games.

That means if you make it to the grand finials you could play 15 to 17 games. But if you don't make it past the prelims you only get 8 games. Do you guys want to play more games or are you happy to stick hard and fast to the NPPL format. They need to pump through 160 teams at a tourny so no wonder they have so few prelims. But we need to ensure value for money for traveling teams but also bear in mind the number of games for finalist. You are the guys playing what do you want. If it where me I'd vote for game time :thumbsup:

Sorry dead eye :rolleyes: but I not messing with it that much, just curious about how many game you would like to get in the prelims. I reckon about 15, say every other team in your division then the balance from the other division. So Pros play all the pros and some of the Div 1 teams and Div 1 play all the other Div 1 and some of the pros. The trick is keeping the draw roughly even and that will mean trying to rank teams :confused:

And don' worry about waiting around. Preacher is running it on the field and I'm running the chronr and staging area. While game is on the next teams will b at their end of the feild watching that game ready to step straight on and the next set of teams will be at the chrono ready to toss and rock out to their ends. And on it goes :thumbsup:

Will it knock around the teams that go all the way with 7 to 9 games in the finals plus with luck 20 teams meaning 19 games for just the prelims that could mean upto 28 games. On the plus side with the small field and a smart field layout games should be quick. If we can stop teams digging in by keeping it light at the back. But can you little fellas handle 28 break out runs??? :whip:

Prelims alone are 19 rounds of 10 games = 190 games at 7 mins each without allowing any time at all between games is just over 22 hours. See the problem. Even 15 rounds is 17.5 hours of game time. We need about 3-4 hours for finals. So in a perfect world, if we kicked off games at 8am Sat till 6pm we get 10 hours less 30mins for the refs for lunch. So 9.5 hours, ,meaning we still have 8 hours of prelims if we start at 7 am Sunday we would just make it with luck.

But hey with any luck we'll get 16 teams and then you will be able to play each other once.

Plan B is to do a draw that is fair for 15 rounds but does go for 19rounds. If we are crusing and games are quick we can play 19 rounds. If it goes to shit and we are slipping waiting for teams and games are long we can stop at 15 rounds. Hows that for an idea :thumbsup:

Tom you will find that the reason that games went so late at Perry Park was that teams tended to sit back and shoot a lot of paint instead of attacking each other.

But yet again if they hadnt done that we would never have experienced paintball under lights. And we all know how exciting that was.

Its called having 2 Sup Air fields and two suitable staging areas for the fields to be set up on =- oh yes, and of course sufficient numbers of referees to oversee each field simultaneously

Teams will not be allowed to use any paintballs with Pink Fill at the SPPC'04. Paint must be non staining. You've got heaps of time to sort out paint or the South Pacs so make sure it will comply.

what constitutes a pro team ? sponsorship or just a better level of play ?

What mix of amateur and X pro team players can i have in a team and still be amateur status ?

Yeah 2 pros can be on the field as part of a Div 1 team. If you are or where an open or pro team in any of the leagues (APA,SAPPA,APPL ect) then we would expect you to enter as pro. As there really is no governing body in the end if comon sense does not prevail then I'll step in and get to have the finial say.

We will also need to do a rough ranking of teams so as to generate a fair draw god only knows how we will achieve that. But I work closly with Mike on it as most teams will probably be at the masters as well and we can use it for both.

Ok this has been abit of a hot topic. Queensland Work safe has a very liberal set of rules covering our tanks up here in Queensland. Basicly No workcover number is required for our tanks. They must still compliy with Australian standards and have a test station number and stamp on the tank. Of course the tank must be within test date and carry reistered test station mark.

So what does that mean to us. Basicly if you present an air system that meets Australian Standards has the test stamp from a reistered test station and that tank is within test dates you will be allowed to use it.

So provided that you haven't let your Mac tank go out of date your Mac tank is welcome at the South Pacs. :thumbsup:

Now it is up to you guys make sure that your bottles are within test and that they have their test stamp from a reistered test station clearly visable.
