MacDev Announces AXL(TM)

MacDev are proud to announce the formulation of a new tournament league set to be played under NXL rules. The new AXL league has been formed with permission of the NXL founder Richmond Italia and the USA X-Ball(TM) president.

Due to the success of X-Ball(TM) in the USA and Europe, resulting in the NXL and EXL tournaments respectively, MacDev have decided to introduce the X-Ball(TM) phenomena to the Australasian region. On the 1st of May 2004 in Rockhampton, QLD, the first demonstration AXL match was played between representative players from Australia and New Zealand - the success of this match shows great promise for the future of the AXL in Australia and New Zealand.

The final format of the competition is yet to be determined, however, one thing is for sure - the AXL is set to bring Australian paintball to another level with improved facilities, standard of play and prizemoney/sponsorship.

Can any one spread much more light on this?? :hammer:

well it appears obvious, there has been talk of creating a X-ball league for sometime, and it would appear something has become of this talk. I for one like the idea of it, but sponsorship sounds well nigh impossible at this time and into the future. How will we get sponsorship if companies are not interested? (I may be thinking too big but I hope the point will be made)

NZ sponsors by Evil is due to the team owner being the PMI importer/dealer, so it is primarily volume sales result.

Xball aden is a more dynamic version of paintball whereby the teams only get 1 point for everyflag hang and they have a set time limit of like 20mins and they have to push through as many games as possible in that time.
so the clock stops sfter the first game and then they have anoth 2 mins till it starts again.the after that 20mins you change sides and do it again

Kudos to mr Funkster as he didnt shirk the issue all day. Ran the fifty every game. Not one person was able to mug him..... but he did cover himself well all day with good back players.

The real kicker is that if you get penalised your out and your teammate is sent to the sinbin to do your time :eek: :cry:
Makes the pit area very entertaining when your team mate comes out.
Speaking of coming out( no not you knackers) if your in the sinbin and your time runs out during the game you have to join the game then from the sinbin.

That's why there has to be a bunker in front of the thing as the oppositions coach is watching the clock and gets his team to zone the sinbin entrance :armed:

Yes Xball is trademarked and it is an international format, what I meant was it is a new format for Australia..and apart from those that have looked into it or followed the sport I doubt many know the rules, apart from the basics.

The point of my post was to find out why we hear it is going to happen and nothing official is said from Mac. I mean Di and James were in Perth at the 3 man..surely one of them could have said a few words on the subject..I know it's the 21st century but not everyone has access to the net, which is the ONLY place you can seem to find out anything these days.

Sometimes little tastes here and there are the worst thing you can do...it leaves too much room for criticism and speculation. Maybe nothing at all should have been said till all the details were finalised.

I'm not having a go at anyone..just trying to understand.
