i can offer a lil info to ya, Class A licence is what ya need to purchase a markers, and i rang up my local cop shop and they said it'd be ruffly 100 bucks ( $30 for the registration form- $60 for 5 yr licence
id suggest ringing up your local cop shop to find out exactly how much the licence is from your area
:D

You live in a good state for paintball. I not 100% sure on QLD laws but i know u dont need a lic to play only own a marker. Getting a marker is a big decision. Below is a ruff quide to what u will need.

Mask- Very important, dont skimp on it $100-$180
Hopper- Egg or Revy would be way to go. $100-$180
Harness and Pods- $150
Marker- Entry Level between $300-$600 Mid Level $800-$1100 High End- $1300-$2500
Air/Co2- co2 will work fine on entry level markers but air is the way to go with anything else. Air Bottle will set you back around $400-$600.

All up a entry level package will set you back around $1000 while a top end setup will be $2000-$3000.

Im sure if getting a full setup shop will give you a good deal.

May i suggest you flick thou some of the posts, there filled with heaps of information, which can answer a heap of questions.

About a entry level marker, i guess it would come down to wither how much money your willing to spend or from what most suggest either a spyder or hurrincane . You can find a hurricane at www.macdev.com.

Hope it was helpful

I have Dye Slide shorts, good protection for thighs and a bit of padding in groin area. Has a insertable pad so if you want it thicker can just pop more padding in if you wish. I know www.platinumpaintball.com.au sell them. Some people also just wear a box but i found that to restrictive for paintball, but its a cheaper alternative.

You could wear a chastity belt like Mary 101 does

Nah the Slider pants are best but a box will do if your concerned.
A lot of guys don't wear anything but the chance is always there.

Where abouts are you from Friendy? I am a newbie too and my marker will be arriving in about 2 or so weeks. I got a spyder TL-X which should be good for a noobie like me and you. If you live on or near the sunny coast we could meet up.

For a good quality durable marker (rec ball more than tourney), I would only ever go tippmann 98 or A-5.

They are both rugged, reliable, consistent performing markers. The upgrades can put them into tournament quality, and allow you to customise it to fit your style of play. If your a sniper, get a rear-stock and flatline barrell with nitro, if your a mad front-liner get an a-5 with cyclone feed (25 balls per sec) and drop forwards etc. Tippmann.com or and of the big US sites will have great deals and a huge range of parts and upgrades. Canadianpaintball.com and onlinepaintball.ca are bot excellent and cheaper sites, you may have to organise import with them personally though.

JT Spectra thermals are the best goog's I've ever used.

Remember, all the most expensive equipment is still only as good as the actual paint youre shooting. You can whoop a $4000 timmy with a $60 pump. :armed:
