Does anyone know how to fix the blowback problem with the Hurricanes, I have moded the electronic trigger on mine, taken the spring out and filled the trigger flat and it double taps nicley, BUT no matter what hopper I try ie Halo, Egg and even and old Revo when you get to the bottom half of the paint usage the blow back from the bolt sends the balls back up the neck so you get heaps of gapping. I think a warp feed would fix it but im not to keen on those, anyone had a similar problem? did you fix it?

You could try drilling some small holes in the marker neck to vent some of the air before it gets to far up thee hopper neck, we have tried it at our field with some sucsess, it still gaps when you really lean on the trigger but not so much. Other than that im not sure.
Have you talked to macdev about them, i am sure they would be happy to help

I didnt even know they had a problem there ... the biggest problem I have with mine is the damn feed neck :hammer:

yea we didnt really notice until we put on the electric grip & a clear hopper, as the paint got lower we noticed that the balls were shooting back up the neck instead of feeding, I did ring Macs but the hadnt experienced the problem, we have also tried different Hurricanes to make sure it wasnt an isolated case but they all seem to do it.
Whats the go with your neck?

Interesting ...
The neck issue was the first feed neck only fit the Revies, but I'd just bought an Evo2 (Egg).
so, the Egg sat around the house for a few months, then MacDev released the new feed neck, which was suppose to be the right size for the Egg - however, it was a little too big and therefore I have to use layer after layer of duct tape to hold it on.
I noticed the cyborgs have this nice twist-screw neck that looks like it'll work with any hopper.
If I can get one of those for the Hurricane, I'm laughing ...

Working at the fields we have used them constatly and funnily enough i have never noticed the problem!! It could be that a. u r running it on co2 try air instead. or there is too much pressure or the bolt isnt closing quickly enough before it fires. That could be in the gun itself im not sure how fast they are ment to go. I know they can get upto 15bps but thats only ever happened twice hope it helps

Seems to only be really noticable with the electronic trigger, because of the extra fire rate it gaps a lot. It might just be a WA thing! :D

Saw some hurricanes at the WOTS torny with drill holes in the feed necks, other had little triangles cut into the base of the neck, dunno if that helps

We use the hurricane at the field I ref at (as a rental CO2) and I'd have to say I've seen the same thing with ball hopping. Mostly it's not a problem with the rentals due to the low rates of fire but the owner here demonstrates the problem nicely :) I have seen it lead to ball chops and gapping. My Spyder does it to a much lesser extent but I have a perforated feed adapter which helps. Try a high rise style adapter / spacer with lots of tiny holes. A revy or similar helps to keep the balls "stacked".
My thoughts only..... ;)

Ok dude... The BlowBack Guru is here..
The problem is your bolt... the air shouldnt come past the "o"rings... so hmm... change your "o"rings first (all new... not just the shitty looking one's)...
Still doing it... try a different bolt out of another hurricane or taint a spyder bolt in it .... but one with lots of flow in it... AKA Lighting bolt... maybe even a stock spyder bolt with the center taken out...
But go someone else's hurricane befor yoou taint a spyder bolt...

Hmmm have to agree with you there, the Hurricanes have a groove on the bolt for the ball feed, I have seen it on the Piranhas as well, we were actually thinking about just milling up a bolt with out it. Do the spider bolts have the groove them?

Some spyder bolts do and some dont...

So does this mean that the new spyder TL-X I have coming will have a similar problem to this? Because as everyone says that hurricane is a clone of a spyder, or am I way off the track?
the spider wont be as bad as the hurricane for blowback...

I think Kingman has slightly more to spend on R & D than MacDev. The hurricane is great for a feild marker but if you get the chance, go the Spyder!!

I've tried spyders, piranas... there was a reason as to why I bought the hurricane (with the esp frame) it was just that much better, every one talks about up grades, the only three upgrades I have needed for my marker is a decent drop forward (I really needed it people), a feed neck (the stock one was too small unfortunately), and I'm waiting to see what the rumors about the electro grips with the vision eyes. Three upgrade to a marker that is already very effcient, not very heavy (lighter than the spyders I've tried), the problem I have truly had is getting a battery strong enough to handle the drain (rectifying the problem), but apart from that detail no worries.
Ps. to the new people, listen to people's opinnions, check you budget, and never believe all the hype the companies put out about their markers, I mean a 'micro expansion chamber'? What hell is a micro expansion chamber. They were too slack and cheap to mill out a full one, so if co2 is the gas you are currently using, less expansion means less gas and more 'liquid', you marker will become a rather ineffcient refridgerator. Weighs more too.
