From memory Kuitpo forest is not to far away from Adelaide.

For all the guys that stayed at Hahndorf for Round 1, Kuitpo is about 15 mins drive from there....just in a slightly different direction to Strath. Not far at all.

Glad I'm not catching a lift with you Studio:p
And btw Blacky, are they turning the carpark into a field, or is it going to be held up over the two hills and across the creek from their speedball field? (and for the guys who've never been there, I'm serious).

BB we will be using the southern carpark that looks over the speedball field, the safety areas next to the field will be used as a compund for all the players, its great cos the carpark area is approx 8mtrs higher than the playing field you can sit up there and look down on the game like a massive grandstand, trav should get some good camera angles for this one!

Awesome spot then, and a great compound area too. They were in the process of plumbing the place for showers in the toilets when I was there last. Yes, you heard right South Ozzies, a paintball field with running water, and electricity:D

nah. Trent Sappa is for s.a teams its designed to be a low cost fun tourny series. If you want to play 2 dayers come play 2XS, and the qld tournies like the one at Strategic Spots.

as I remember Skip I think you are now two doubles ahead of me, not fair really my team mates wont let me move too far forward any more :(
the field is up an running and currently has a speedball style field on it that will be moved for the tourney, safety areas need some extending but other than that its a done deal! :)
thats because you get mugged. will we be using the rps feild again cause it is awsome!

ENTRY Pro $80 Per Player Am/Novice $60 Per player

Deadeye
07-04-2004, 10:03 PM
we fly to qld. Got some merrit to it though actually the reduced entrance, we do pay for accomadation, flights, or petrol it does add up, not too mention the snacks i buy on the way lol. On average a sappa 1 day tourny costs me like $500, a 2 day event is like $600-$700 approx. Im guessing for a s.a player its only paint, and entrance fee seeing you dont need to use accom most of the time. Im not having a dig at all I dont mid paying full fees, it helps run everything, but somethign worth looking at by the sapap committee maybe.

Comming from NSW last round last year cost me around $400+ and i didn't even play so if i was to play add those costs could get quite expensive, i can see where deadeye is comming from.
I thought sappa was meant to be cheaper to play. I spend less than that playing appl tourneys
Souse, and what APPL tournaments are they these days? Of course its easier for you to travel to Brisbane and cheaper, think before you post.
And what you all seem to forget (except Dead-Eye: cant believe I said that) is that the series is designed for SA players/teams not interstate teams and therefore is meant to be cheap for SA players.
Its great when interstate teams come down but thats not the focus of SAPPA, its not a national comp.
If the APPL is not running let the privateers run you a national comp and when they work out the costs you will be whinging about that when its passed onto you. Just liek there was a lot whinging about APPL costs.
Where/when are entry forms available for this well priced event? :respekt:
I believe 110 dollars for a SAPPA event is the cost isnt it? Not bad at all...
I want to enter a team into Rnd2...how can I get entry forms?

Anyway Neil it is only $350 per team. Im unsure about seniour discounts, its best to ask Blacky about that.

When did the price rise to $350? If two day comps are $500 (members) surely a 1 day comp is $250. Is there something official on this?

sorry but I wasnt having a dig at the price of sappa tourneys. :respekt: Ive never played one but I'm hoping that will change soon. What I was saying was that I couldnt believe it was costing the guys from VIC so much to play a 5 man event. Maybe I havent travelled enough lately!
I have nothing but the utmost respct for people like sappa and the apa in QLD because I knopw first hand how much time and cost goes into organisinga tourney. And I know as a player the costs of playing the tourney scene as my team has supported all appl tourneys and maybe only missed 2-3 touney since its inception in 1996.
so JJJ I hope this clears up what I had posted.
Deadeye
08-04-2004, 03:22 PM
JJJ the last 1 day Sappa tourny to my recollection was $300 for unregistered team and $250 for registered ones I think so you would be right there. $500 for registered at a 2 day and $550 for an unregistered team.
No worries Souse.
And that sounds right Dead_Eye but when your not closely involved anything can change so i thought the $350 that Trent posted might have been real.
TRENT
08-04-2004, 10:15 PM
i was sure it was around that price for a 1 day. Must have been the $300. Yeah not knocking SAPPA or anything either just explaining how expensive it is to go for one day.

Talking about APPL has anyone heard anything about it ?
I think the price you were talking about Neil was the old sappa (pplsa) prices. $50 per person is not bad at all (less if more than 5 ppl) you get a good feed too - does that now include air fills or is that just included in the 2 day events ?
I know I used to argue for cheaper fees for interstate teams with the APPL when having to travel but that never happened either - atleast not to the teams I played for. In reality guys if it is costing you $700 to come and play what diff would a field fee of $50 make in the big picture.
Now that I too am in the position of having to travel, I think its a bonus cause you get a night off (can you tell I have kids?) - You can hit the pub and have a good time.
