As you all know, I have a spyder.. today - while bored and at work.. I decided to read up on LP mods to spyders.. now.. I can hear alot of you saying " Why bother - its a spyder " - but its my bundle of joy.. now I have a mintox barrel kit.. modified bolts and polished internals.. and an adjustable regulator on my hpa cylinder, I thought " Hell, why not ! "..

So I pulled out all my spring kits and tools, and went bout trying to find the right combo to get my marker to the lowest pressure before it becomes a paint blender.. I got it 'stable' at 400psi, and I can get down to 300.. but I am not so sure thats going to give me a good long throw on my paint.. IS that considered a low pressure range ?? Considering my marker is designed for 800psi ??? without massively modifying my marker ( getting a titanium striker and a turbo valve )..

Is there anyone in here who's done this and can give advice ?

( sorry if i dont make sense, its my birthfday and I am drunk ! )

real low pressure starts at around 200 something psi iirc.

Ahh bugger... well, looks like a need a titanium striker and a new valve then capt'n..

Maybe I should play with the dwell on the valve - hold it open longer, then maybe I can get some more juice in the chamber...

Man, this is all about " Hit and miss " isnt it ?

Thanks for the birthday wishes ben..

I know you would consider my spending money on a spyder to be futile.. because your used to being able to get em easily..

But have you ever seen the look on someones face when you come out shooting quick and straight.. and QUIET from a " Low end " marker ?

I actually had someone comment at the last tourney I went to on how nice my marker was shooting, and how electro spyders had an un-deserved bad rap..

I know Spyders are considered a Poor-man's marker.. but if you've seen or shot mine - it aint a poor man's toy anymore.. never breaks a ball.. and has the longest throw for paint.. I can throw paint right to the corner end of the field, no probs..

I will be buying a borg later on this year, and getting it all customed up.. but it doesnt hurt to tinker with your toys...

I don't consider E Spyders being crappy, they work well for the price, no question.
If it works for you, good on you mate :)

I started with a spider and they are a good start like ya say

but if ya wanna stay with em ya can upgrade em to trade paint with any marker just ask the mighty Hellspawn :)

Like anything all up to user what ya can afford or prefer
