They are universal dude... unless your using a BA cylinder.. then you need something slightly different...
you need a " Yolk "

Standard 3500psi tank uses the standard YOKE fill station you see on the Action PG website $100-140
A DIN valve on the 4500psi tanks $$$$$ is different completely. You will have to have that made up for you.
I know one person who had the money to make one here in Melb
Its very similar to an industrial screw in type - larger flatter and more expensive
Most dive tank places fill to 3000-3300 tops. Its just too much wear on the compressor

oh yes it is alot, but you are correct the din fittings are used for high pressure, there are svereal different makes and model for the standard scuba tank valves...but the yoke will fit them all....i made a din fitting fill station for Pat in SA but i forget how much i charged him.

the yoke attaches to the valve
standard k valve is screwed into the cyclinder semi permanently

I just had my 2 paintball cylinders filled to 4000psi using a standard fill station at http://www.springvaledivecentre.com.au/ Worked fine and normal fill station worked on it Gauge only went to 4000 on fill station so didnt go past it but he told me bottle was a 4500psi? Any clues? He also told me for a new bottle for scuba at that pressure was about $500-$600. Any clue?

he had the adapter there ?
how much did he charge you?
Stuffed gauges. lets face it - a $25 one isnt very accurate
Yes $600 dollars seems normal for a 4500-5000 psi tank
so the 3000psi fill stations will work with most scuba tanks?
or you need a specific valve?
is DIN valves just for 4500psi tanks?

Okay the old 300bar Din connectors are a pain to find someone to fill - but yes teh 4500-5000 psi tanks are all DIN.. ask jamie for soem help there
the new cylinders come with "new valves"... you can unscrew the center section with an allen key and viola - the new smaller din thread is usable
Regardless.... its the cylinder that is the key, not necessarily the valve ( it can be higher rated than the tank)

the k valves should never be filled over 4000psi i think cause they are designed mainly for 3000 or so and the yoke type fill stations arent designed to take that much pressure either...I get the same thing with guys at the APPL events saying that our gauges are out of whack...mmm sorry a several hundred dollar gauge is lots more reliable that that pissy little thing you have on your cylinder
You are correct Yzo...
Yeah trent that seems about right for a new cylinder that is designed for that pressure..bloody expensive isnt it...lol
guys the rating of a scuba tank is at a specified temp... so eg a 300 bar tank is only rated for that fill at say 15 degrees C so thats why sometimes a dive shop or the like will not fill all the way coz you are gonna take the tank and leave it in your 50 degrees C car for a few hours...
thats what burst disks are for so it does not blow to bits in case things go out of acceptable limits.
