I bought a mac-dev matchstik set last week and managed to get out last night and pop a couple rounds through.. I noticed that the barrel is pretty darn quiet.. not silent but didnt make a popping noise..
I specifically took it out at night to hear it more clearly as sound travels much further when its dark and quiet.. pretty impressive stuff !!
Now, there are 3 backs - which one should I use ? I know you " Should be able to blow a ball out easily " but theres 3 sizes..
where would you use all these backs ? not like we get ice and snow o'er here in perth..

you use different backs depending on what size paint your shooting. Paint comes in more than 1 size.

Well, anything over .686 isnt really .68 is it - thats almost a calibre higher.. and shouldnt be labled .68
Just a moot point really, I guess..

So is there a common sizing chart ? - so I know what size I should expect from any given manufacturer..
That, and lugging more and more crap around with me to every event is starting to annoy the crap out of me - and increases your chances of loosing parts - or having something stolen...

paint size varies from batch to batch. thats why you have the barrel kit even if you shoo the one paint brand all the time. Every time you go to play and get some new paint put it in the barrel and see if you can blow a ball out, it should not roll out and it shouldn't get stuck so bad you cant blow it out. if it does try a different bore.
