blacky
05-01-2004, 03:23 PM
given the huge amount of interest from new teams wanting to start into paintball, SAPPA will most likely be running a third division for round 1 but we will be capping Div3 at 10 teams

Blacky if theres going to be 10+ div 1 teams will they play each other once each day or something like that, or will every team play every team as usual, just wondering as the second option could see div 1 teams playing div 3 teams.
blacky
05-01-2004, 10:58 PM
unless we have a huge number of teams entering Div 1 and 2 will be mixing freely as they have in the past, Div 3 however, if they mix at all, will only play against division 2 teams

Paintball Park is located a bit further than 10 min from Adelaide. More like 30 min. Still close though.
Also, I dont think Total Eclipse are playing. They may be reffing??
Can't wait, 3 days, Sup'Air on Grass WooHoo.... :bigparty:
Can already feel a sore throat coming on for that Friday.... Sorry boss just to sick t make it in......:D
Good to see the B/Brothers taking the step upto Div 1 after only a season under their belts :respekt: (and know know it hurts me to give you a compliment Deadeye  )
Will be great to get a Div3 going. The more people involved in Tourny Paintball the better.... :D

Kaoz will be there. Sounds like its going to be a kick ass event to kick of the season. Good to see that bruise bros have steped up. Team welt i think will be the team to look out for this year there on fire.

cool dude, I like playing Kaoz, our game against you guys was the best fun and hardest game of the day last time.
dont know if we will be playing on grass. I was speaking to the feild owner the other day and somone had stolen his water meter. but at least the ground will be level. Personally i dont care what we play ball on as long as we are playing ball is all that matters.
Deadeye cant wait to play you guys now we owe you.

Dirt ot grass, it doesnt matter. At least it wont be crushed rock like round 4. Damn that ground was hard.
yeah the ground was a bit hard at round 4 but trust me in saying that it is getting harder. It would pay to invest in some knee padz etc. for any time you you play a torney because you never know what the ground is going to be like.
What other interstate teams are looking to come over for this one?
"FIREstorm" :hammer: :whip: :armed: :evil

dont want to sound the alarm but when a sappa round was unsuccessfuly slotted in for this new field at the end of last year the owner was adamant about registered markers even to the point of wanting to see registration slips.
so I dont know where that would leave the WA teams unless both the field woner or sappa have had a change of heart and liabilitz risk?
note the round did not go ahead there not becuse of this reason, as SAPPA has been adament all markers must be registered, but because the field had not received its approvals.

Well if everything gets sorted out and we can use our toys over there, then I think there's a very good chance you'll see us in March. Where exactly is Paintball Park..is it in Elizabeth like previously stated ?
yes in Elizabeth, some 20-30 minutes North from the CBD as IR3 stated

SAPPA Official release.....
just an update on the upcoming round 1
HPA and CO2 will be provided.
2 inlatable fields
the field has a fine dirt topsoil presently but will be seeded and hopefully covered in grass prior to the tourney
Field owner has stipilations for insurance and liscence reasons that will make it impossible for WA teams to bring their markers over until their laws change. If anyone has any helpful ideas or suggestions to help overcome this problem please dont be shy to put them forward as I would love to see WA represented in March.
Membership for SAPPA 2004 season will remain $30
Tournament is 5-man format with 7 minute games
Lunch will not be provided but with so many local facilities within 5 minutes (MacDonalds, KFC, Hungary Jacks) this shouldn't be a problem
Plan is to have on field commentary, this may cause some apprehension in regards to in game info being given away but the commentary is aimed more at players info, ref calls and game stats ie fastest time, who needs what points to get into the finals. This is to help spectators better understand what paintball is about and how the game is played.
The Players Area and Spectators area will be seperated. The only way that anyone can enter the Player area is with a "Pit Pass" which security will be monitoring throughout the event. If you wish to have extra passes issued for pit crew etc please fill in their full name and reason for being in the Player area on the back of the entry form and you will have additional passes issued

WooHoo....Bring it on! :bigparty:
Suggestion for the WA guys.
Not sure who has put there hand up to ref but that would be a team of markers they maybe able to use...? Like what some of the NZ guys did last year for the Aussies that when to Rotorua. Also if anyone has a spare registered marker..? This is just a suggestion as I really can't speak for the team reffing as it their markers and their decision on wether they want someone else to use them...just floating the idea.

Its might also be a cool idea to ask studio 54 if he can organise fresh Fm to do a live broadcast from the field somewhere, that way it will attract more people, the announcers can plug the tournement all day and we can have some cool beats in the back ground and inbetween games!

in the players pits maybe have some kickass tunes pumping get everyone psyched. IM thinking survivor 'eye of the tiger' and other songs that would be cool to hear for when you enter the field like the music from the matrix 'wake up' by rage of the machine. Yep this tourny will rock:D

IR3 I think you should re-read my statement and remember I was on the SAPPA committee.
The field as I stated did not have its approvals and that was the reason why the round did no go ahead there but also the field owner was asking for registration slips to be shown.
I have on many occasions, including the section you selectively quoted from me, stated that SAPPA has always stated all markers must be registered, no matter the field. Of course the field owners want registered markers on their fields.
NOTE I have also maybe 1 or 2 older cockers registered in SA that WA players could use if they make it over (1 maybe sold).

SAPPA has oficially changed the venue to Skirmish SA in Strathalbyn. The tournamnet will take place on the 13th-14th of March SAPPA has booked a hotel in Murray Bridge just up the freeway from the field and has 21 rooms available for approx $30 per person per night including a continental breakfast. If you are interested in one of these rooms please feel free to enquire and I will give you the relevant details, note Interstate players will recieve first option of these rooms followed by local players. Details - I am just in from Thailand.
The location has changed back to the same as 2003 SAPPA4... got that.
Will 3500/4500 psi air and C02 be supplied ?
What time is registration on the saturday ?
I assume now that the field wont be available on the friday.
Will there be any setup for shelter for spectators - ie., my new wife ?
I love my job. I spend Tim's money and get all the credit. We like what the SAPPA and for that matter the APA are doing for SA and Qld. Keep up the good work guys.
Can someone email me the entry form for round 1

You obviously arent aquainted with the local fauna Deadeye. I hope you're fast or are carrying a knife, because the goanna's around these parts are awesome. I've seen them carry a full grown sheep away, so you better leave your ugg boots at home too, and not play paintball in them.
