08-12-2003, 03:45 PM
the plan is to have the supair fields, chrono station, HPA and stalls all set up on friday morning allowing players to register, play practice games on the fields try out new paints and so forth, also if we get a lot of the fills, chronographing and registration out of the way on friday it allows for smoother days to follow. This is also good time for the refs to be able to mix it up on the fields they have created!

would love for it to be but I think SAPPA needs a lot more time before it can be restructured in that way, nost teams are still finding their legs or restructuring

Deadeye, were'nt you the one who was wanting more teams to beat? If you play 7 man I think you'll end up with less. As it is, last tourney we just scraped in our 5.

its alright hideous in the interest of greatly improving the event we may be moving it back 2 weeks, which means longer until the next event but I think it will be worth it!

unfortunately dude SA tourneys require that all markers at the field be registerred. Hopefully in the time between now and then the laws of your state will change, If you are truly interested in coming over drop me a line at sappa@neonet.com.au and I will discuss some options with you
Also the dates for SAPPA round 1 may be changing to 12/13/14th of march. Will give the heads up as soon as possible but trust me the delay should be worth it!
Also would like to organise billeting for any interstaters coming over, if you live in SA and are happy to have some players stay at your place please reply to email above (don't worry Ethan likes to sleep in the garage!)

From what i remember Fallout got equal 4th at R4 and it was 1st Tourney for 2 of us and first time team had played together. Also i think i remember a grudge match against Fallout and BB and i think we won without lossing a man.

[QUOTE= we are pushing for 5 teams for this event.
Can we have finals?[/QUOTE]
I agree with 5 rounds per season..
And with finals in stead of top 4 playing each other.. Only have 1st & 2nd play for 1st & 2nd, and 3rd & 4th play off for 3rd & 4th.. This way we still get finals. If you consistent throughout the after noon and finish over 2nd, then you deserve a shot at a play off for 1st. If you come 3rd or 4th, then you dont.. Play off for those spots respectitvly...
TRENT
15-12-2003, 11:45 PM
Ethan you are full of shit! We owned Bruise Brothers that grudge match . At least the rest of your team addmitted it and didn't cry like a girl  or make up some lame story that you stuck your head out so we could shoot you. Show some :respekt: and be gracious in defeat instead off making up excuses.

Nice idea I.R.Three, that way you are still rewarded for consistency through out the day. What about the teams finishing 1, 3, 5, etc they would have nothing to play for as they can't move up just lose their spot to the team below...would this be an issue...?

I think the only fair finals are ones where the top teams play each other once and the highest score wins (ie APPL) although if their was enough time and money Super 7 rules with best of three would be awesome! Also if any changes are made to the tournament format they must be followed through for the rest of the year
Deadeye
16-12-2003, 03:20 PM
if all rounds are going to be 2 day events??? probably would be enough time Sup 7 style finals.
I would think these ideas should all be raised at the AGM so that the membership decides the formatt for the year.
Consistency would be very pleasing if possible.
Deadeye
17-12-2003, 09:35 AM
when is the AGM?
blacky
17-12-2003, 01:36 PM
Its not so much a matter of time for Super 7 finals its more the large amount of paint that would be expended just to decide final placing. Considerring that the two teams in this position are no doubt the two best teams on the day you can only imagione the amount of paint they would expend against each other per game, that is not to say it wont happen its just food for thought for the mebers to decide at the AGM, which looks to be Monday 19th of January, members please ensure that if you cannot make the AGM that all relevant topics or opinions that you wish brought forward at the AGM are mail\ed to me so that your views and opinions can be represented properly :p
Deadeye
17-12-2003, 03:05 PM
it would mean a lot more paint, thats why I like better the idea of 1 vs 3 and 2 vs 4, then the winners play for 1st and losers play off for 3rd, that way only 2 extra games.
another thought, for next year...compulsory bottle covers?

Like Blacky said, cost is still an issue. The good thing about the SAPPA is that they have always run moderately priced events (well as moderately priced as you can be with paintball :D). I'm not saying finals is a bad idea but it will increase costs so thats something to think about.
If you can't get to the AGM make sure someone is there to voice your opinion that way no matter what happens at least you will know that all opinions were discussed.

Without being too much of a biatch, can I ask if all financial members of SAPPA are to be advised of the AGM in writing before the event.......call me cautious, but I remember the ill feeling last year when the AGM was held and a large proportion of the Association was not notified.
Can any member of the executive please advise me on how to obtain a copy of the SAPPA constitution.
Cheers

Hideous joining is a very good idea. It allows your team to then keep their series points, and you are supporting sappa.

One question, how much is membership?
I think last year it was $25-30 per player, can't remember exactly.... but I assume that will be decided at the AGM.
Deadeye
13-01-2004, 02:54 PM
yep $30 per person last year, you need at least 5 paid up members on your team to keep your points I belive.
