Has any body been pulled up for this little unknown, this being of course the rule pertaining too "all markers should not exceed the limit of 13 bps". Sorta laughable really. How would some-thing like this be enforced? Your input would be appreciated.

realistically these days this cannot be policed................paintball is evolving so quick that often the rules aren't in touch with realities of the game, this is one of the bonuses of being in such a young sport........we are directly involved with the development and progression of PAINTBALL RULES.......................................pretty cool!

most people shooting electro's these days pull at least 13bps and often far above this................only 18 months ago a select few were able to achieve these sick rates of fire , now it seems everyone can....technology I guess.

the faster the better...........BRING IT ON!!!!!!!

yeah this rule has been brought up a few times and it is pretty much ignored, it's an old rule and I think it is going to be revised, but until it is I don't think it will be enforced.

Rules are rules, if the rule is on the books and I thought it would stuff up tough opposition in a game to have it enforced, then I would be raising the issue pregame, and insisting that the other team complies, even if they have to switch to field rentals for the game. Who's to say that I would be wrong to insist. We have rules to say semi only, 300 fps or less, only a certain number of players on-field for a game, only in-test air systems. If we choose to ignore one of the rules, then why not another one...

If it's not a good rule, or it's unenforceable, then the rule should be removed, but if it's there, then we have to comply.

Actually warpaint, the committee has voted to remove that rule, as it serves no real purpose, so it won't be enforced even if you complain.

What I'd like to know is if they had this rule in the us leagues how DID they enforce it??? is it possible?

most of the markers capable of firing faster than 13bps have an adjustable max rate of fire. So it's just a matter of checking that setting.

Actually Cpt.Krunch, if the rule isn't in the rule book, then I wouldn't be requesting that it be enforced. :)

But if it is, then I would.

Gav wa, I've seen a swing trigger cocker hit 14bps, there is no dial to turn that one down. The faster the better I recon. The sooner you run out of paint, the sooner I get to bunker someone.:D

Thats intresting cause I was just talking to a friend that mention paint limits, for an up-n-coming tourney. Imagine shooting 15 Bps only to run out in the first minute. Theres also a 6 shot hit limit per elimination. That being so a player doesn't get too briused in one game (good idea).

Paintball isn't what I'd call the most accurate sport but if the balls per second isn't capped i'd wouldn't like playing a game in the future it would be more like winning the lottery then skill/evasion.

Griff I think you will find that if you shoot ppl 6 times they may test the blunt end of their tank on your head...:D

It depends on how big they are but how can you regulate that rule if there is at least 4 people shooting at the guy:D
If everyone is shooting 13bps and several people shoot him he is gonna get hit more than 6times what happens if he does get hit more than 6times do you put him back in and let him get shot again:confused:

Griffman, I'ver been shot more than six times, just like Jamie said, by 3 people in said situation. (Thanks Miff, Mick Ryan and Sonic). It was tough (about 20 hits) but jeez mate have you ever played a contact sport? If you think getting shot with a paintball or 2 or 3 or even 20 hurts, then try knitting or chess. Chess is heaps of fun and doesn't hurt a bit.

If you don't want to get shot, don't play paintball.

I thought chess was a full contact sport:D man i have come off the field with plenty o splotches of paint covering me,usually being last person with at least 5 poeple shooting at me:D Its just the way it is,try playing in the states or canada where they love bonus balling people:D

You get hit with a flying chess piece and you'le know all about it. Shit dem things are hard! Although it was fun at the time. As for multiple hits I only had about 10 no more in one game. Although running into a paintlane will do that. You watch some of these young (rec)guys go out shoot themselve up, god they have a ball the satisfaction of leaving your mark! You could never have that same rush with lazer tag.

I didn't think the 6 hit rule worked too well last time it was used in a local tournament. The rule was that if a player received more than 6 hits, a penalty went against the other team.

I remember watching one enterprizing opposition player work this rule over the course of the tournament, it looked like he was intentionally drawing additional hits on his elimination to incur the penalty against opposition teams.

This is an example of a rule that I think is either redundant or subjective/ambiguous and shouldn't be there. If a player bonus balls another player, then they should be pinged for dangerous play ( it's a bit like boxing, you expect to be punched, but not when you are already down for the count). I believe there was a recent article where Chris Lasoya was banned from a tournament for doing this.

If a player gets a few extra hits because he has the misfortune to be the only player left on his team when 4 guns from the opposing team open up on him, then that's just paintball, and there shouldn't be a team penalty because more than one guy on your team can hit a target.

Pete Martin will be able to fill in the exact details but he said he saw a guy light up his own team mate after the game was over out of the refs view and then complained that the opposition overshot his player and milked the penalty! Talk about taking one for the team.
