hi all as promised i am back to update you on tobias's operation.
it was a great success according to his surgeon. he is pretty crook at the momment but thats to be expected, he went into theatre at 2-15pm and came out 7-15 so long op. the surgeons have said tobias will have a long recovery in front of him around 12mths, he will be able to go to paintball as a spectator, after about 2-3mths, THAT WILL REALY MAKE HIM ANGRY AS HE LOVES TO BE OUT THERE WITH YOU ALL PLAYING . BUT HE WILL HAVE TO REALISE ITS FOR HIS OWN LONG TERM GOOD.
his prognosis long term according to his surgeons and doctors is reasonabl considering his massive injuries.
he will probably have perminent headaches, some dizziness, problems controlling his hands from shaking, memory problems, and speaking and writeing.as he gets his words confused. BUT HEY TOBIAS HAS HAD ONE EIGHTH OF HIS TOTAL BRAIN MASS REMOVED, so he is doing remarkably well realy. so if this is how tobias is going to be long term WE CAN THANK OUR SELVES LUCKY,AS HE COULD HAVE BEEN PARALYSED ECT. SO TOBIAS WILL EVENTUALY BE ABOUT 70% OF HIS OLD SELF, QUITE REMARKABLE CONSIDERING THE MASSIVE INJURIES HE HAS SUSTAINED.
the main problem i can forsee ahead is holding tobias down while he is supposed to be recovering so he doesant hurt him self more, HE IS SUCH A LIVE WIRE AS YOU ALL KNOW HA HA.
WE WILL BE HELPING HIM AND HIS WIFE AND FAMILY OUT QUITE A LOT OVER THE NEXT 12MTHS. WHILE HE IS NOT ABLE TO WORK ECT. at this stage it looks like he may not even be ableto return to work at all ???? but time will tell. LETS HOPE,BUT MOST OF ALL I HOPE HE CAN RETURN TO PLAYING HIS BELOVED PAINTBALL,IT REALY MEANS A LOT TO HIM. well thats all for now,i will keep in touch and will definitely try to get to the paintball touurniment ,being held as a fund raiser for tobias + his family. IF IT IS AT ALL POSSIBLE I WILL TRY AND SEE IF TOBIAS CAN COME AND WATCH THE TOURNIMENT,[IT WOULD BE SUCH A BOOST TO HIS MORAL]. regards ken higgins and family

The last opperation I had was significant and the skull being placed back together was intense. Attending the tournament in WA seems intense with the pain caused. So I will unfortunately miss the event.

My hopes do go out to all but I hope the best teams will win.

Thankyou, Tobias Higgins

1st - Tsunami (haha)
2nd - ??? Gerry's team - i forgot their name, lets call it Venom Z
3rd - Iron Men

LAST (11th) - Froggy's Poptart Pirates.

It was a MAD day - REALLLLY fun and heaps of laughs (and shooting people from the sideline (sammy and diesel)).

Reffing was fantastic too! Thanks to Pete n Jill.

Also - im obliged to write: Deadbox gave away a heap of prizes - i hope anyone who got one enjoys it and sends some suckers to the deadbox next tourney! (not to the company, we dont want them... just shoot them off the field).

Tobias - you got some bulk cash coming your way dude.

To Alien, thankyou for the information regarding the tournament in Perth. The fact that Tsunami came first is great news! Congratulation to all the teams and good job going to another rough paintball tournament. Many thanks to all refs including Bill and Jill from what I hear.

My main issue was that I couldn't make it my self, next tournament you attend, I may just show my face, SAPPA will be one I will attend to observe and watch first. :)

Thankyou, Tobias Higgins

My team (Joy Division I think?) came 2nd. Just quietly I call for an audit on Tsunami's results. I suspect some dodgy under the table shenanigans went on there.

But seriously, it was a really really fun day and all for a good cause. Some awesome prizes by a lot of generous donors but mostly it was just good fun honest ball.

Also props to Ali for not getting my Best Run Through of the Day™on camera :(

Personal thanks to Wade and Matt (team Dynasty) it was a pleasure to have you on the team.

What an awesome day of paintball.
That would have been the most fun paintball tournament ever. Nothing serious just good quality fun.
Once a year Sammy. At least one of these a year.

Funny watching a player get taken out off the break by a spectator and being eliminated to then be fined for talking as a dead player to the ref about being shot from the sideline.

AHH funny shiet.

Thanks to all the dudes who showed up.
:fu: to all the dudes that didnt:lol:
 to Jillibean and Pete. Cant believe you guys travelled that far for this, absolutley awesome guys.
:respekt: Gary for travelling from SA for this.
 Thanks to Paul Mavor for the venue

I just wish my foot wasn't stuffed and i could have played yesterday. Having to sit on the sidelines was very hard. What a great day. For me probably the funniest moment was diesel sitting on the sidelines shooting the laydown greaser was at , only to keep missing the bunker and poor old paintball pete copping more than a few hits. How often do you see a ref litup by a spectator

Big thanks to paintball pete and jillibean for coming over and to all involved in organising what was a great day .

best draw card that will ever be seen at an australian tourney, we had:

Dynasty
XSV
Iron-men
Avalanche
russian legion
joy division

WOW wat a line-up... the rosters may have been 'slightly' different to what they would usually play with, but most of the big names where there

also, SWAT and X-Fighter$ played to... gimps

Not a shame really. If WA can do it then i would think NSW/QLD/VIC/SA can do it bigger and better.
Im surprised NSW being the largest paintball state cant organise a fund raiser like this. Maybe there has been some not 100% sure.
Believe me it was more fun than any tourny. FUN FUN FUN with a good cause.
Im sure this will be an annual event in WA.
Maybe your local paintball community can band together to have your own.
Damn well worth it. Shheeeeesh we even had Jillibean and Pete and gary fly over. :respekt:

My GOODNESS..........................awesome day

Ramus Cannus,....... KOUDOS buddy great job, even if you forgot tables and chairs........hehehehehe

Pete and Jill..................Thankyou very much............and...KEEP THE FAITH DUDES.

To the WA players that showed your face well done, it was huge to see all the new dudes there, i did expect more seasoned players to show but i spose they didnt.........WHATEVA

Thanks Paul Mavor....as usual this guy has put his hand up to help and is genuinely interested in pushing THE SPORT and jumped at the chance to help out a PAINTBALL CHARITY FUNDRAISER...........then again he has always had an awesome attitude.

FROGGY LA-SOY............this is your real captain speaking.........and your No.1 fan....Lift you game buddy.nuff said.:hammer:

Yes its true, G-Unit didnt make it to the field for one game so me and sammy turned our guns to fully ILLEGAL, played for G-Unit, Won, then lost on gun violations..............it was great!!!!......I think that game alone cost me $10 in penalties.........................I'm not sure what Gazza was thinkin whilst playing along side Sammy and myself, I do remember him shaking his head alot!!!!!

GOOD JOB ALL INVOLVED................GOOD LUCK TO THE HIGGINS' FAMILY:thumbsup:
