Can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the gas you use on a marker from CO2 to oxygen.

I have read you can refill O2 off a scuba bottle with an attachment.

Can it be done?

thanks

You have to have a high pressure air system to fill with AIR. You can't fill a CO2 bottle with air as CO2 runs at an aprox pressure of 800psi where as you fill AIR to 3000psi or 4500psi depending on the maximum test of your bottle or regulator. Your best bet is to get into contact with someone who sells them to explain this further.

dont even attempt to fill a paintball cylinder with oxygen:help:
high pressure o2 ignites when it is exposed to petroleumbased products like oil and grease and the resulting explosion will KILL YOU:help: :help:
A guy in BHP port kembla hooked a jackhammer up to a oxygen line and blew himself to bits and badly hurt several others:D
only use approved cylinders and use compressed air or CO2 and never chop and change the gases:D
ive action paintball games a ring they have all the necessary equipment and can put you on the right path:D

yeah sorry. When I said oxygen I meant compressed air. But then again maybe so did the guy with the jack hammer.

Anyway. Is what you are saying, that if you get a higher pressure tank you can just throw that on and use compressed air, or do you have to modify/change anything else.

I don't really want to blow up just yet.

You'll find that there are basically 2 different types of tanks, ! type for CO2 which is a lower pressure tank but and they are a cheaper tank, when you get into compressed air however your dealing with higher pressure tanks which youll also need a good regulator to keep a constant output these tanks are alot dearer and regs arent cheap either!

hope this gives you a bit more info!:)

If you are going to change gases on your marker . which is not a problem. I would be going through and replacing all the o rings, especially if you are going from CO2 to air. CO2 is cold and makes the o rings brittle. Your only real problem will be forking out the cash to do the change (air system, orings, fill station, scuba tank) it all adds up.

Good luck And good shooting.:armed:

So having said all that what are peoples opinions on changing over to air.

Is it worth doing or not?

Unless you have a close, constant, hassle free source for you to run CO2 the i would be setting to run on air. It may be an outlay to start, but it is a lot less hassle to running CO2.
