Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a wee while now and just signed up the other day, just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself! I'm Lori, an American expat now living in Darwin. I was a fairly keen amateur player in Portland, Oregon before I moved to Australia, and I sold all of my gear when I moved as paintball is illegal in Darwin (just one of many things I gave up for my unworthy ex, heh!). I've met James/Bareback through work and after many chats about his efforts to persuade the NT government to legalise paintball, I'm fully back on the wagon again and keen as anything to get back into it! I haven't played in over five years now, haven't even really stayed in touch with what's going on, and just in the past few weeks of looking online I can see I'm completely out of the loop with all of the gear that's out now. I look forward to reading your posts and learning lots, so be nice to me, ok?

So anyway, get crackin', James, and let me know what I can do to help get these politicians to see the light! :whip:

Hey lemur

Good luck to you & James with regard to your efforts to persuade the NT government to legalise paintball.

Have a couple of Darwin stubbies for me :evil

Hey lemur...

I'm constantly in touch with James and the others in N.T. trying to get this legalised in your state. I've been in on that with James from the get go. So I'm in that loop mate, and very happily so.

Great to see you're keen to get back into it mate, and it couldn't be at a better time or N.T.

Welcome. Have fun, sledge (not that we encourage that:evil ) post up as often as ya want and oh, I've already said it, have fun.

And keep James on the ball.:p

Thanks for your kind welcome to the forum, everyone! And JJJ, hell yeah Portland rocks! I'm from Alaska originally, and hoo boy we used to play some crazy woods games in Alaska, I can tell you. Good fun. I'm really keen to get back into it!

My partner is a long-time Darwinite and has never even held a paintball marker, so I've told him in no uncertain terms that our next holiday down south will involve some play at a field somewhere! We do go down to Brisbane fairly regularly (I get my tattoo work done by Matt Cunnington, at Westside Tattoo), but I can't be all bruised up before getting tattooed and don't want to be bruising fresh tattoos, so that does sort of rule out playing paintball during the same holiday I'm doing a tattoo trip. :P We are planning on going down to Melbourne in February, so I think we'll play down there somewhere, just have to figure out where and all that closer to the date! Any good places anyone wants to recommend in Victoria?

And Tripod, I rather think that James's fiance would take issue with he and I going on holiday together, anyway, heh. Tell ya what, we'll have to organise a holiday with both of our partners and get them to come play, that'll be fun! I'm not under the impression that Leanne's half as into it as James is, she has "paintball widow" written all over her. ;)

I've played Bundy. Was hell fun, back in 2003 at one of the Qld Cup tourneys. Wish I'd taken my gear up there again
